Willie Davis is originally from Whitesburg, Kentucky. He won the 2007 Willesden Herald fiction award judged by Zadie Smith. Currently, he teaches English at the University of Maryland. “The Rabid Dog” is an excerpt from a recently completed novel, The Darktown Strut.
