How to Raise Your IQ Fifty Points. Fellow Ohioan Bill Eichenberger has joined the blogosphere with The Book Blog. A book critic for the Columbus Dispatch, Eichenberger says that he added 50 points to his IQ the day he started reviewing books. Previously, he was a music critic. If the shoe fits. You’ve seen them, those dangling shoes tied together and thrown high into the air to straddle electric lines. Now there’s a word for that inexplicable phenomenon: shoefiti. (Shoe + graffiti = shoefiti.) And there also appears to be at least one one-man effort to rid the world, or at least Minneapolis, of this urban blight. Ed Kohler, who Double-Tongued Dictionary credits for the etymology of shoefiti, theorized in 2005 that there is a connection “between shoes on power lines and nefarious activities including drug dealing.” You can report your shoefiti sightings–and post pictures–to his web site Shoefiti.com.
