Vulnerable and shrewd almost escaping between ribs Your heartbeats stammered messages for me To misconstrue and misconstrue again. The task of reinterpreting Skips no beat still.

Absence
Without you the days lengthen like a dead girl’s hair like fingernails of the dead growing sharp like barbed wire wrapped around my head: my own thoughts draw blood.

Momentary blindness seeing you In another light, feeling suddenly As if I’d vomited, before the nausea Swells again, swallowing me up, Is all the grace I’m granted when I beg.
