Kelly Loy Gilbert has an MFA from San Francisco State and lives, writes and works with young writers in the SF Bay Area. She occasionally writes here, and her debut novel, about a young man whose beloved father is charged with a hate crime, is forthcoming from Disney-Hyperion in 2014. She is currently working on a novel about the family of a minister whose young daughter disappears during a Christmas shopping excursion.
