Sylvia Maizell (1935-2014) published translations of Russian stories in several journals and anthologies, among them Metamorphosis, Best European Fiction, and Moscow Noir. Her graduate work in Russian was at the University of Chicago and Moscow State University. She taught Russian and other languages for over two decades.
