Dara T. Mathis is an essayist and journalist whose work has appeared in the Atlantic, The New York Times, the Women’s National Basketball Association, and other media outlets. In 2024, she was awarded the American Mosaic Journalism Prize. Her writing has also received support from MacDowell, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, the Kenyon Review Writers Workshop, and the Sewanee Writers’ Conference.
