Helen Maryles Shankman is an artist and writer, living in New Jersey. She was a finalist in Narrative Magazine’s Winter 2010 Story Contest, earned an Honorable Mention in Glimmer Train’s Short Story Award for New Writers competition, and has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Her work appears in numerous journals and anthologies, including Jewishfiction.net and Cream City Review. She is currently at work on a novel and a collection of linked stories.
