Saikat Majumdar is the author of a novel, Silverfish (HarperCollins India, 2007), and a book of criticism, Prose of the World (Columbia UP, 2013). The Firebird, his new novel, will be published by Hachette India in May 2015. He teaches world literature at Stanford University.
