Shabnam Piryaei is a poet, filmmaker, and artist. Her fourth book, titled all children, was published by Diode Editions in 2024. She meditates and does jujitsu, and when a spider comes into her house, she tries to take it outside safely rather than kill it, which is what she used to do.
