because we need to know even the dark dome
hovering above us its infinite black

of onyx filled with cracks flickers of future
shatter is a bright hot snow still arriving
ten thousand years from now already dead
sending out their final signals seeds of time
the way I hope something I say will come back
some dark night when you wrestling sheets twisting thoughts
no dream though I’ll have been long translated to
ash a phrase will effuse behind your eyes
almost without your knowing when it began
sliding down your spine swimming your restless limbs —
little glimmer . glint of warmth . winter ember .
