The Wisdom of Solomon

from The Nakedness of the Fathers

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting, get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honor when thou dost embrace her.
                            Proverbs 4.7-8.

Remember wise old Solomon
Recall his history
He was the wisest man on earth
And so he cursed the day of his birth
He knew that all was vanity.
              Bertold Brecht
