The Universal Wolf: A Vicious New Version of Little Red Riding Hood. A Faux French Comedy of Menace

A little proscenium stage with red velvet curtains. It sits on the larger stage like a telephone booth or a police box—and carries with it the same sense of endangered isolation. Audience SR is a table and chair.

The READER sits in the chair waiting to begin the play. The READER will read all the stage directions that the actors can’t, won’t, or don’t do. The READER will also create the voices of the structuralists, the bird, the post-structuralists, the audience, the stagehands, and LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD’S MOTHER. The READER iS very lightly miked.
